It’s that time again! Lime Sustainable Supplies has recently partnered with leading environmental organisation Ecologi to tackle the carbon challenge. Not only to measure the impact of our own sustainable journey, but to empower you to make informed choices and embrace change for a greener future.
As of November, we are well on our way towards achieving our goals through reforestation efforts, and making a tangible impact through our contributions. Ecologi provides SMEs like us with support to sponsor whatever type of environmental projects mean most to a business, which in our case would be the funding of tree planting schemes and community-based carbon offset projects.
Here at Lime, we side with Ecologi’s mission to inspire and empower businesses to accelerate global climate action. So, we are here to show you how our impact feeds into collective action.
Every sustainable order you place through Lime contributes to the certified planting of trees on your behalf.
By offsetting carbon emissions, you’re demonstrating your commitment to sustainability. As well as building trust with your clients and prospects that will ultimately help you to retain and win new business.
Each tree is tracked and receipted, promoting gender equality, employment, new income streams, and more diverse food sources.
Both Lime and Ecologi work together to support projects that are certified to reduce & offset carbon. These contributions will continue to grow through our sustainable commitments, driven by your highly valued custom and support.
We believe in transparency, so we will continue to update you on Lime’s progress each month with our carbon offset records. Your first look at the projects Lime have successfully had a positive impact on during November 2023 are below.
Every tree we plant is receipted and traceable and every Carbon offset programme we support has to meet the highest of standards and is VCS (Verified Carbon Standard) or Gold Standard approved.
Lime Supply Ltd has supported the prevention of 15.15 tCO2e from being emitted through 2 new verified carbon avoidance projects below.
This project will prevent 779,450 tonnes of CO2e from entering our atmosphere over its 10 year lifespan, reducing 77,945 tonnes of CO2e reduced each year!
Located in Benban, Egypt. Benban solar park is a power complex of 41 solar power plants being developed, located in the Aswan governorate, and is anticipated to be the largest solar photovoltaic (PV) park in the world, upon completion.Â
This project involves the installation and operation of a solar power plant with peak capacity of 50 MW and does this through utilising photovoltaic (PV) solar power technology. The PV panel generates electricity by converting solar power, the most abundant renewable energy, into electric power to create clean energy with no consumption of fossil fuels and no emission of greenhouse gases (GHGs). The net electricity generated from this project (158,881 MWh annual estimated electricity output) will be supplied to the national grid.

The KSWC REDD+ Project was launched in 2010 from a collaboration between the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). It has prevented the release of more than 20 million tons of CO2e emissions, specifically saving 25,000 hectares of forest from destruction.
This project helps to protect the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary in Cambodia that is currently under threat from accelerating forest clearance for agriculture together with unsustainable resource extraction (including hunting, logging and fishing). Subsequently, these activities harm both biodiversity and local forest-dependent livelihoods.
The sanctuary is a haven for biodiversity and a vast storehouse of forest carbon. Spanning over 290,000 hectares, the protected area is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including 84 globally threatened species and the world’s largest population of black-shanked douc and yellow-cheeked crested gibbon.
