Trees are our biggest plants and our best allies in the fight against climate change. That’s why Lime has recently partnered with Ecologi. to collaborate on reforestation projects that not only protect forests and restore natural ecosystems, but provide co-benefits for local people. Promoting employment, gender equality, new income streams, improved community facilities, and more diverse food sources to support a healthier diet.
So far, Lime Supply Ltd has funded the planting of 1,417 trees across 7 projects as of December 2023. We help save the world one tree at a time, planting trees as your reward when you buy sustainable products from us. This helps you to retain and win new business with your newfound eco credentials.

Lime Supply Ltd has funded the planting of 442 trees so far for this project!
This project aims to restore 10,000 hectares of degraded land in the Amhara region of Ethiopia by supporting the introduction of 11.9 million trees, in collaboration with The Hunger Project. These will be introduced by three methods: planting, assisted natural regeneration, and conservation.
The Gewocha Forest, located in the northwest of the country, is one area where deforestation and land degradation is resulting in a poorer standard of living for residents. Here, and in the surrounding communities, a lack of effective land management means soil is of increasingly poor quality, and land is becoming unproductive. Consequently, there are high rates of poverty and poor nutrition in the local communities.

This project is ran by Eden Reforestation Projects (‘Eden’) – a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to provide fair-wage employment to impoverished villagers as agents of global forest restoration. Eden hire local people to grow, plant, and guard to maturity the trees planted through funding – on a massive scale. As well as restoring forest ecosystems, Eden’s “Employ to Plant” methodology results in multiple positive socioeconomic and environment impacts.
Vast areas of Madagascar’s original forests have been destroyed, displacing entire animal species and diminishing local people’s ability to farm and live on the land. Entire mangrove estuaries are also gone, leaving the bare earth to wash away into the sea. These mangrove forests are not only crucial carbon sinks, they also provide habitats for a wide range of marine species that live in the shallows, and provide vital coastal protection from floods and storms.

Forests are home to a wealth of wildlife. If we don’t protect what we have left and work to create woodlands of the future, we stand to lose more than just trees. Lime will continue to support tree planting projects across the globe throughout 2024 and beyond.
